Longing for home

koishi yumeno furusato

koishi yumeno furusato

muneni egaki okani tateba

kazewa samuku minishimu

muneni egaki okani tateba

kazewa samuku minishimu

tôki yumeno furusato

tôki yumeno furusato

wareno omoi shiruya sorani

kyômo hoshiwa manekuyo

wareno omoi shiruya sorani

kyômo hoshiwa manekuyo

Home which I dream of, which I love,

home which I dream of, which I love!

I stand on the hill and hold your image in my heart,

but a chilly wind makes me feel cold.

I stand on the hill and hold your image in my heart,

but a chilly wind makes me feel cold.

Distant home which I dream of,

distant home which I dream of!

At the sky that knows my thoughts,

the stars stand again today and invite me.

At the sky that knows my thoughts,

the stars stand again today and invite me.

Naomi Matsuzaka wrote these lyrics, but there is also another version by Sei’ichi Ida entitled “Dawn”. In 1968, the NHK aired this alternative version in the broadcast “Minnano uta“ (songs for everyone). The alternative version is a skiing song.
