Using the same title, the famous poet Tomoko Nakayama wrote different lyrics for this melody. Another poet wrote lyrics entitled “Whole in the ski-run” which are also sung as a hiking song. In 1964 and 1965, the Japanese broadcasting network (NHK) aired both versions as part of a very popular daily TV broadcast (“Minnano uta” = Songs for everyone). From then on, these two versions have also been very popular in Japan.
